Judy Warth Is Honored by the Iowa Board of Regents
Following 30 years of service to people with disabilities, CDD program manager Judy Warth has received the Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award. She will be honored at a Board of Regents luncheon in June.
Established in 1993, the Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award was created to provide a statewide forum to recognize staff members in conjunction with colleagues from the other Board of Regents institutions. Awardees’ accomplishments have significantly benefited the University, brought honor or recognition to the University, and had a significant positive impact on the State of Iowa.
After careful consideration, Warth was chosen by the Award Selection Committee for demonstrating exemplary work and making ongoing contributions to the University of Iowa and Iowans with disabilities through her work as an employment specialist. She has managed a long-term contract with the Iowa City Community School District to help high school students make the transition from school to work. She has supported Iowa APSE (Association of People Supporting Employment First) to provide job coach training workshops. Working with CDD clinical staff, Warth has supported teens and young adults who come to our Transition to Adulthood Clinic. In one of her many current roles, she works with participants in Iowa’s Money Follows the Person program, supporting their needs to find jobs and achieve job success.
“Judy has contributed significantly to the university through her UCEDD and CDD clinic work,” says UCEDD director, Caitlin Owens. “Through her efforts to advance employment for people with disabilities, Judy’s work with has made an impact on businesses, state agencies, schools, and other organizations across the state.”
